Privacy Policy
The Business AI Guide (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website thebusinessaiguide.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have. The site is operated from India and serves readers mainly in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.
1. What we collect
- Contact form. If you send us a message, we collect the name, email address and message you provide, so we can read and reply to it.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our server automatically records basic technical information when you visit: the pages you request, the date and time, your browser type, and your IP address. We use this only to operate, secure and fix the site.
- Consent preference. Your cookie choice is stored in your own browser (local storage). It is not sent to us as personal data.
- What we do not collect. We do not ask for payment details, government IDs, or health information. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 — this site is written for business owners. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us through the contact page and we will delete it.
2. Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how readers use the site — which pages are read and how people find us. It runs only if you consent to analytics cookies: the tool stays off until you accept (opt-in for visitors outside the US; opt-out for US visitors, with Global Privacy Control honoured). When it runs, Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _ga_<id>) and collects your IP address, browser and device details, and the pages you visit; Google processes that data under its own terms. We do not run any advertising tool, ad network or tracking pixel. If an advertising tool is added later, this policy will name it first and the banner will ask for your choice again.
3. Why we use your data
- To reply to messages you send us (your consent when you submit the form).
- To operate and secure the website, and to fix errors (our legitimate interest in running a working site).
- To comply with legal obligations, for example responding to a lawful request from an authority.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share data only where necessary to run the site: with our hosting provider, which stores the site and its database on a server; with Google, which processes analytics data as described in §2 above; and with authorities where the law requires it. If an advertising tool is added later, the providers involved and the data they receive will be listed here first.
5. International transfers
The site is hosted on a server located outside your country in some cases. Where your data is transferred across borders — for example when you read the site from the EU, UK, Canada or Australia while it is hosted elsewhere — we rely on the safeguards that apply to that transfer, and we keep the data protected to the standard described in this policy.
6. How long we keep data
- Contact messages: kept until your request is resolved, then deleted within a reasonable period afterwards.
- Server logs: kept for a short operational period and then deleted or anonymised.
- Consent preference: stored in your own browser until you change or clear it.
7. Your rights — by region
Your rights depend on where you live. You can exercise any of them by sending a request through the contact page. We will respond within the timeframe your local law requires.
European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access your personal data, correct it, erase it, restrict how it is used, receive a portable copy, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time (withdrawing consent does not affect anything already done with it). You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Canada (PIPEDA)
If you are in Canada, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to challenge its accuracy and completeness. We aim to respond to access requests within 30 days. We collect only the information needed for the purposes stated in this policy, with your meaningful consent, and we safeguard it with appropriate security. If a data breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Australia (Privacy Act — Australian Privacy Principles)
If you are in Australia, we handle your information under the Australian Privacy Principles. That means: we tell you what we collect and why when we collect it (APP 5); we will not use your information for direct marketing without giving you a simple way to opt out (APP 7); if your information is ever sent overseas, we will say where and why (APP 8); and you can ask us to correct information we hold about you (APP 13). You can also ask for access to your information, and complain to us first if you believe we have handled it badly — and then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
India (DPDP Act 2023)
If you are in India, this site is operated from India and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act applies to how we handle your data. We collect your data only with your consent and after telling you what we collect and why; you can withdraw consent, ask for a summary of the data we hold, and ask for it to be corrected or erased. If we suffer a data breach, we will notify the Data Protection Board and affected individuals as the Act requires. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18, and we do not carry out behavioural tracking of children or target advertising at them. For grievances about your data, contact us through the contact page.
Quebec (Law 25)
If you are in Quebec, you have the right to access your personal information, correct it, and ask for it to be erased or de-indexed where the law allows. You can reach our privacy contact through the contact page. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
8. Cookies
We use only what is needed to remember your cookie choice, stored in your own browser. We set analytics cookies only if you consent to them (see §2 above). See the Cookie Policy for the full list, and use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer to change your choice at any time.
9. Security
We protect personal data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and access limited to the people who need it to run the site. No system is perfectly secure, and if we discover a breach affecting your data we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when how we handle data changes — for example before any advertising tool is switched on. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be noted here.
11. Contact
For any privacy question or request — access, correction, erasure, or a complaint — use the contact page. Please include enough detail for us to find your data and answer you.
